Join us for a residential weekend in the peaceful hills of southern Scotland.
We will take a journey together through earth, air, fire, water and spirit, focusing on our most important magical tool and the foundation of our spiritual practice: the body. Using breath, voice, movement, imagination and creativity, we will explore the foundational skills and tools of magic and spiritual practice in the Reclaiming Tradition.
The Elements of Magic is an introduction to the Reclaiming tradition. Due to the diverse nature of Reclaiming, there are as many different ways of teaching it as there are teachers; however, the course always covers the foundational tools of magical practice – such as visualisation, focusing the will, energetic awareness, creativity, intuition and divination – as well as ways of forming personal spiritual connections with the Elements and other aspects of the Divine. Halo and flame strive always to keep an awareness of our physical as well as mental, emotional and energetic bodies, and to combine mirth with reverence in their work.
The venue for this workshop is Davington Old Schoolhouse in Eskdalemuir, set in the magical hills of the Southern Uplands, about a mile from Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre. We will be using a beautiful, purpose-built workshop space overlooking the river Esk, and working outdoors whenever possible.
The cost for the workshop, including all food, accommodation and materials is £90-£120 sliding scale.
Food will be vegetarian.
Accommodation is above the workshop space or within the Schoolhouse – two single rooms are available above the workshop space for anyone who requires more solitude, at an additional cost of £12 for the weekend. Alternatively, some space for camping is available. An additional night’s accommodation can be arranged for Sunday night for those who want it.
Please note that the path to the venue and some of the outdoor spaces may not be fully accessible for people who use wheelchairs or have other mobility-related access needs.
